Annual Dogwood Arts and Crafts Festival: Features the demonstration and sale of traditional arts and crafts plus specialty ethnic foods. Held last weekend in April. Big Sandy Superstore Arena. (304) 696-5990.
Spring Festival Day: Held annually first Saturday in May at Heritage Farm Museum and Village. Experience life as it was in an Appalachian pioneer community and learn about the major inventions and transportation revolution that changed everything. Travel through history among the 17 restored buildings of the communtity. Witness a blacksmith, weaver, potter, corn grinder, basket maker, cooper, quilter, wood carver and furniture maker demonstrate their crafts. Jazz-MU-Tazz: held in June, it's Marshall University's summer jazz festival featuring live jazz music, outdoor activities and events for the entire family. (304) 696-6656.
Juneteenth Festival: The celebration of freedom from slavery for African-Americans. Lots of good food, music and arts & crafts. Held at the A.D. Lewis Community Center, 1450 AD Lewis Ave, Huntington. Held in June. (304) 696-5908.

Cabell County Fair: Old-fashioned, county fair to delight all ages. Activities include: livestock show, beauty contests, live entertainment, arts and crafts, demolition derby, and carnival. Held first week of July. Cabell County Fair, P.O. Box 433, Milton, WV 25541. (304) 743-4273.

Chilifest: WV State Chili Championship held in downtown Huntington in Sept. Chili cooks from all over West Virginia and surrounding states compete to become the West Virginia champion and compete in the World's Chili Championship. Halloween Spooktacular: Weekends in October, Camden Park transforms its amusement park into a frightfest for young and old. 21 rides plus a hay bale maze, haunted train ride, costumed characters, fortune telling, live entertainment and more!
